What conditions must be met to be indemnified for money defrauded by a fake online shop?

All these points must be met: you've paid for goods or services by transferring money from your personal bank account, using a payment card or digital wallet; an online trader has defrauded you by setting up a fake online shop or website when selling goods or services; at least 14 days have passed since the promised delivery date and the goods or services have not been delivered to you, or they have been delivered but are not as described, for example if the goods are different in size, construction, composition or use; the online trader has not refunded the money you paid for the goods or services.

Most common insurance cases

Telephone fraud

When calling a customer, fraudsters pretend to be an employee of an institution, such as a bank or the police, and try to get the bank's access or payment card details.

Investment scams

Fraudsters pose as investment brokers and offer lucrative investments. The client receives a phone call with the "best offer of the century" to invest and earn, which turns out to be a scam.

Online shop fraud

A customer buys a product from a fake online shop by paying for it online but never receives the product. After attempts to contact the online shop, it no longer exists.

Online banking access or payment card fraud

The customer enters their online banking or payment card details into fraudulent websites that may look like online banking. The fraudsters use the data to make purchases or transfer money from a bank account.

Fraudulent SMS

The customer receives an SMS in which fraudsters impersonate public authorities, such as the National Revenue Service.
